  Elija Scott to D.M. Zetrouer 
             "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } This Indenture made and entered into
on this 28 day of December 1882. Between Elija Scott
of the County of Alachua County and State of Florida of the
first part and D.M. Zetrouer of the same place of the second
part. Witnesseth that whereas the said party of the first part is in-
debted to the said party of the second part for the said sum of
($1500) dollars secured by one note for the said sum of
($1500) bearing the same date with these presents on
the first day of December AD 1883, and whereas I the said
party of the first part being desirous of better and more fully
securing the payment of the said sum of ($15,00) at the date
above written have this day granted bargained sold and mort-
gaged and by these presents do grant bargain sell and mortgage
unto the said party of the second part and his administrators
and assigns one bay horse (4) years old branded
[N] on the shoulder Together with all the right title and
interest of the said party of the first part therein and
the party of the first part hereby waives and relinquishes to
said party of the second part all his right of homestead
Executions alowed by the laws of the State of Florida.
   The conditions of the above obligations are such that if the
said party party of the first part shall meet and truly pay
unto the said party of the second part the said note-
of ($15.00) with interest at 10 per cent then this obligation
to be null and void else to remain in full force & virtue
and that this instrument of writing may be foreclosed
at any time after the first day of December AD 1883,
by the said party of the second and that the said party
of the first part agrees to pay for the said foreclosure
should the same become necessary with all reasonable attorneys 
fees and Cost expended in the collection of the same In witness
whereof I Elija Scott the said party of the first part have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on this the day
and year above written         }
