 Alachua County  } Whereas I Richard Kettlewell of
Memphis State of Tennessee am justly indebted to Annie
L. Barton & D.W.L. Barton her husband of Alachua County
State of Fla in the sum of Five hundred and fifty dollars
which said sum of money is covenanted to be paid by
certain promissory notes having even date herewith one
for the sum of One Hundred dollars Due 17th day of January
1884 and One for the sum of Four Hundred and fifty
dollars Due January 17th 1885. And whereas I am desirous
of fully and better securing the payment of said notes and
the sum of money mentioned therein Therefore know all men
by these presents that I Richard Kettlewell for and in
consideration of the premises and of the sum of one dollar
to me in hand paid have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey
unto the said Annie L. Barton and D.W.L. Barton their
heirs and assigns all the following described piece
parcel or tract of land to wit: Commencing at the south
East corner of Lot owned and now occupied by Mrs
Merry E. Fluellen Being a fractional portion of Section
28 Township 10 Range 19 the same being in the
Arredondo Grant Running south 12 Chains thence West
10 chains thence South 2 1/2Chains thence West 14 1/2 Chains
thence North 20 Degs West 14 and 23 links thence East 45
degs South 5 1/2 chains thence north 45 Dgs East 6 Chains
thence East 13 Chains to point of beginning Together with
all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurten
ances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the same
unto the said Annie L. Barton and D.W.L. Barton their heirs or
assigns in fee simple absolute forever Provided however and
these presents are upon this express consideration that if the
Said Richard Kettlewell will pay all expenses costs and
attorneys fees which the said Annie L. Barton and
