is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold and by
these presents do grant bargain and sell & convey unto the party
of the second part all that tract or parcell of land lying
& being in above State & County and fully described as lot
Five (5) of Lot Eleven (11) of the Moses E. Levy Grant the
same being situated in the south west quarter of Lot (11)
as is shown by a map or plot of the same made by
James Croxton CE which map is duly recorded in Deed Book
"W" at page 916 = Said Lot five containing by estimation
sixty three acres Together with all the appurtenances & im-
provements to the same belonging To have and to hold the
same to him the said John J. Barr his heirs executors
or administrators in fee simple forever. This grant is inten
ded as a security for the payment of Sixty ($6000) Dollars
in a note of date Jan 12th due Jan 1st 1884 Signed John
H. Carter= which payment if duly made will render this grant
void- And if default be made in the payment of the same
then the party of the second part his heirs executors or ad-
ministrators are hereby authorized to sell the land herein
granted or so much thereof as will be necessary to satisfy
Amt mentioned with the cost and expenses allowed by law
