a certain promissory note bearing even date herewith and
due on the first day of October next for the sum of Two
hundred and fifty dollars according to the tenor and effect
thereof then these presents to become void else to remain of
full force and effect. In testimony whereof I have hereunto

   Know all men by these presents that I John C. Baxley
of the County of Alachua and State of Florida party
of the first part for securing the payment of the money
therein mentioned and in consideration of the sum
of one dollar to me duly paid by Mary A. McCone
of the County of Alachua And State of Florida party of
the second part at or before the ensealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain
and sell unto the said party of the second part her
heirs executors administrators and assigns all that part
or the whole of my cotton crop to be grown on my
farm near Orange Creek in said State and County necessary
to make a bale weighing three hundred and twenty five
pounds of ginned cotton To have and to hold all and
singular the said goods chattels and personal property
above bargained and sold or intended so to be unto
the said party of the second part her heirs executors ad-
ministrators and assigns forever And I the said party
