for me of the said note for one Thousand dollars
so payable to the H.F. Dutton and Company - Therefore
know all men by these presents that I the said John C.
Ryder (Bachelor) for and in consideration of the
premises and the said several sums of money for
which I am liable as aforesaid have granted bargained
sold aliened conveyed and Mortgaged and by these
presents do grant bargain sell alien convey and
mortgage unto him the said Charles Burleigh all
of that certain Block Lot tract piece or parcel of
land situated lying and being in the town of
Gainesville in the County of Alachua in the State
of Florida now known as the "Arlington House Lot"
and particularly known designated and described
upon the original maps and platts of the said
Town of Gainesville as being Block No Two (2) of Range
No Four (4) measuring two hundred (200) feet
Square Together with all and singular the
tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same
belonging or in anywise appertaining To have and to hold
the same unto him the said Charles Burleigh and to
his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
Provided always nevertheless and this instrument is
executed and delivered upon the expressed condition
that if I the said John C. Ryder shall and do well
and truly pay unto the said Charles Burleigh the full
amount of each and every of said Five (5) promissory
notes for the sum of one Thousand each so pay
able as aforesaid to him the said Charles Burleigh at
the times and dates when they and each of them
shall fall due respectively Together with all interest
thereon to accrue according to their and each of
their respective tenor and effect, and shall also
save the said Charles Burleigh entirely harmless
against any loss or injury by reason of his
being surety for me upon the said note for One
thousand Dollars payable as aforesaid on the 1st
day of April AD 1883, to H.F. Dutton & Co of Gainesville
Fla by my fully paying and discharging the same
when it falls due then this obligation to become
wholly null and void, otherwise to be and remain
in full force and virtue In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed hereto my seal
on this 25th day of January AD 1883
