Eight hundred and Eighty Three Between Meredith
D. Grainger of the County of Alachua and State of
Florida of the first part and George W. Kellum of Duval
County and State of Florida of the second part whereas
the said Meredith D. Grainger in and by a
certain obligation or writing obligatory under his hand
and seal duly executed, and bearing even date herewith
stands bound unto the said party of the second part in
the sum of Three Hundred and ninety Dollars in the
words and figures following to wit $39000 Ninty days
after date I promise to pay G.W. Kellum or order
the sum of Three Hundred and ninty dollars for
value received Witness my hand and seal this 22nd
day of January AD 1883, (signed) without any
fraud or further delay as in and by the said recited
obligation and condition thereof relation to the
same being had may more fully and at large
appear. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said
party of the first part as well for and in consid-
eration of the aforesaid debt or sum of Three
Hundred and ninty Dollars and for the better
securing the payment thereof unto the said party
of the second part his executors administrators
and assigns in discharge of the said obligation
above recited as for and in consideration of the
further sum of one Dollar specie well and
truly paid to the said party of the first by the
said party of the second at and before the
ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt of which
one dollar is hereby acknowledged has granted
bargained sold released and confirmed and by
these presents dose grant bargain sell release
and confirm unto the said party of the second
part his heirs and assigns three certain
Mules aged respectively Deep cream color about
5 years (Branded P} old Dark Brown six years
old named Pet, One sorrel mule aged seven
years named Bick One Two Horse Wagon and
Harness and one log cart and fixtures Provided
always more or less that if the said Meredith D.
Grainger his executors administrators or assigns
do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the said party of the second part his
executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid
debt or sum of Three Hundred and Ninty dollars
on the day and time herein before mentioned and
appoined for the payment thereof Together with
lawful interest for the same in like money in way
