   William Hawkins to G.D. Younglove & Son
             "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that
whereas William S. Hawkins of the above State and County
is indebted to G.D. Younglove & Son of the same State and
County in the sum of seventy seven & 56/100 dollars
which said sum is covenanted to be paid by his certain
promissory note bearing date February 10th 1883 and for
the said sum of seventy seven & 56/100 dollars bearing
interest at the rate of Ten per cent per annum now therefore
to better secure the payment of said note and interest
as expressed therein I do by these presents grant bargain
sell and convey unto the said G.D. Younglove & Son
their heirs and assigns all my right title interest
and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever
species kind or description now growing or which
may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me
or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and
all lands in Alachua County Florida Also the follow
ing described property to wit: One Black Pony horse
named (Sam) about (9) years old= To have and
to hold all and singular the crops lands and person-
al property above bargained and sold unto the
said G.D. Younglove & son their heirs executors admin-
istrators and assigns forever Provided nevertheless that
if the said William Hawkins should well and truly
pay or cause to be paid unto the said G.D. Younglove
& Son the full amount of said note together with the
interest according to its tenor and effect then this ins-
trument to be void else to remain in full force and 
virtue And it is hereby further agreed that should
it become necessary to enforce this instrument by
legal proceedings the said William Hawkins will
pay therefore all attorney's fees charges and expenses
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this 10th day of February AD 1883.
