 Marion S. Bruce To Daniel G. Ambler
             "Mortgage"
This Indenture made the___day of February in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty
three between Marion S. Bruce and Walter Bruce her hus-
band of Gainesville Alachua Co Fla parties of the first
part and Daniel G. Ambler party of the second part. Whereas
the said Marion S. Bruce and Walter Bruce are justly indebted
to Daniel G. Ambler party of the second part in the sum of
Three hundred no/100 Dollars lawful money of the United
States of America as is evidenced by a certain promiss-
ory note in words and figures as follows to wit
$30000  Jacksonville Fla Feb 1883
One year after date for value received we promise to pay
to the order of Daniel G. Ambler the Sum of Three hundred
no/100 Dollars with interest till paid at twelve per cent per
annum payable quarterly        Marion S. Bruce  (seal)

Now this Indenture Witnesseth That the said parties of
the first part for the better securing of the payment of
the said sum of Money mentioned in said promissory note
and also for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar
to them in hand paid by the said party of the first part
at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted
bargained sold aliened remised released Conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain
sell alien remise release convey and Confirm unto
the said party of the second part and to his heirs and
assigns forever, All that piece or parcel of land lying and
being situate in the suburbs of Gainesville Alachua Co
Fla in the North half of the North East Quarter of Section
Four Township Ten south of Range Twenty East as said
land is described in a certain deed made on the
30th day of March 1879 by Genevive Voyle wife of
Joseph Voyle to Martin Stribling Bruce wife of Walter
