And whereas we are desirous of fully and better securing
the payment of said note and the sum of money mentioned
therein. Therefore know all men by these presents that we Mary
S. Sheats and W.N. Sheats her husband for and in consider-
ation of the premises and of the sum of one dollar to us in
hand paid have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Wil-
burn Lassiter his heirs and assigns all the following des-
cribed piece parcel or tract of land to wit: The North half
of Lot No Two of Brush's addition of the Town of Gainesville
Beginning for the Same at the North East Corner of said
lot and running thence Westerly One hundred and ninety
(190) feet thence Southerly Two hundred (200) feet thence Easterly
parallel to first line one hundred and ninety Two feet
and six inches (192 6/12 ft) and thence Northerly in a straight
line Two hundred (200) feet to place of beginning. Contain-
ing by estimation 38250 Square feet of land more or less-
Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments
and appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the
Same unto the said Wilburn Lassiter in fee simple ab-
solute forever. Provided however and these presents are upon
this express Consideration that if the said Mary S. Sheats
and W.N. Sheats her husband heirs or assigns shall well 
and truly pay or cause to be paid the Sum of money Covenanted
to be paid by said note together with the interest to accrue
thereon according to the legal tenor thereof then this obliga-
tion then this obligation shall become null and void else to rem-
ain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed
and stipulated that the said Mary S. Sheats and W.N. Sheats
her husband will pay all expenses costs and attorneys
fees which the said Wilburn Lassiter may be put to in
enforcing the Collection of the aforesaid Sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure or other-
wise. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands
