Peyton Burnett to James R. Crawford
"Mortgage"
This Indenture made the 2nd day of March AD 1883,
between Peyton Burnett and his wife Francis Burnett
in the County of Alachua and State of Florida of the
first part and James R. Crawford of the Town of Gaine-
sville in the County of Alachua and State of Florida of the
second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part
in consideration of the sum of one hundred & seventy five
dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby ack
knowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened remised
released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents
doth grant bargain sell alien remise release convey
and confirm unto the said party of the second part
and to his heirs and assigns for ever all that Lot
or tract of land situate lying and being in Alachua
County State of Florida known and described as
follows to wit: the south East quarter of the South East
quarter of the north west quarter of section (32) Thirty two
in township nine South of Range Twenty east=contain
ing (10) Ten acres more or less together with all and
singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances there
unto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion
and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and
profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest
claim and demand whatsoever as well in law as in equ
ity of the said party of the first part of in and to
the same To have and to hold the above granted and
described premises with appurtenances unto the said
party of the second part his heirs and assigns to
his and their own proper use benefit and behoof
forever Provided always and these presents are
upon this condition that if the said party of the first
part shall well and truly pay a certain promissory
note bearing even date herewith given to the said
party of the second part and described as follows due
on the 1st day of January AD 1884 payable to the order
of James R. Crawford with interest from date at the
rate of 1 1/2 per cent per month until paid given by Peyton
Burnett according to the tenor of said note then these
presents shall become null and void and the estate hereby
granted shall cease and utterly determine In witness
whereof the said parties of the first part to these presents
has hereunto set their hand and seal the day and
year first above written
