      Francis Williams to W.A. Colclough
                    "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that whereas
Alachua County   } Francis Williams of the above State and County is
indebted to W.A. Colclough of the same State in the sum of Two
hundred and forty Three & 75/100 dollars which said sum is covenanted to
be paid by his certain promissory note bearing date March 7th 1883
and for the said sum of Two hundred and Forty Three & 75/100 dollars
bearing interest at the rate of 12% per annum. Now therefore to better
secure the payment of said note and interest as expressed therein I do
by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said
W.A. Colclough heirs and assigns all my right title interest
and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species
kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be
planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on
or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the
following described property to wit one sorrel Horse and one Black
mare mule - To Have and to Hold all and singular the crops lands
and personal property above bargained and sold unto the said W.A.
Colclough his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
Provided nevertheless that if the said Francis Williams should
well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said W.A.
Colclough the full amount of said note together with the
interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument
to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is
hereby further agreed that should it become necessary to
enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the said Francis
Williams will pay therefor all reasonable attorneys fees
Charges and expenses. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and affixed my seal this 7th day of March AD 1883

being duly sworn says that he saw Francis Williams sign
