 Alachua County  } Whereas March 10th 1883. Joseph N. Clinton
of Gainesville Alachua County Florida justly indebted to Messrs
H.F. Denton & Co Gainesville Alachua County State of Florida in
the sum of Five Hundred $500 dollars which said sum of money
is covenanted to be paid by a certain promissory note bearing even
date herewith for the sum of Five hundred dollars due and
payable on october 1st 1883 with interest after maturity at the
rate of 2% per month said note being made and signed
by Chestnut & Clinton and whereas I am desirous of fully and
better securing the payment of said note and the sum of
money mentioned therein therefore know all men by these presen
ts that I Joseph W. Clinton of Gainesville Alachua County State
of Florida for and in consideration of the premises and the sum
of one dollar to me in hand paid have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and
convey unto the said H.F. Dutton & Co his heirs and assigns
all the following described pieces parcel or tract of land
to wit commencing one hundred feet north of the south 
east corner of lot number Fourteen (14) of an extention of
the Town of Gainesville known and described as Brushes
addition to the Town of Gainesville Thence running West
one hundred and fifty four feet (154) thence north fifty
two feet (52) Thence East one hundred and fifty four
feet (154) Thence south fifty two (52) feet to the point of
beginning the same being situated in section Five (5) Town
ship Ten (10) south of Range (20) Twenty east in Alachua
