          Franklin Malphus To Jacob J. Godwin
                    "Mortgage"
Know all men by these presents that I Franklin Malph
us of the town of La Crosse in the County of Alach
ua and State of Florida of the first part for and
in consideration of the sum of ($5000) fifty dollars law
ful money of the United States to me paid by Jacob J.
Godwin of the above named State and County of the
second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
and convey unto the said party of the second part
his executors administrators and assigns one gray horse
about 12 or 13 years old named Bill and all crops to be
made by Franklin Malphus on the land known and
described as follows and known as the James Cason Pla
ntation 1 mile South Weatherington Springs Fla to have and
to hold the same unto the said party of the second part
his executors administrators and assigns forever and I
do for myself my heirs my executors administrators and
assigns covenant and agree to and with the said party
of the second part his heirs executors administrators
and assigns to warrant and defend the sale of said
property hereby made unto the said party of second
part his executors administrators and assigns against
all and every person and persons whatsoever In witness
whereof I have hereunto at my hand and seal this 26th
