J.H. Haygood To Jno J. Barr
                  Mortgage
This Indenture made and entered into this March 5th AD 1883
between James H. Hagood of Alacua County Florida of the
first part and John J. Barr of same State and County of the second
part witnesseth that the party of the first part for & in consid
eration of the sum of Eight Hundred ($80000) Dollars to him in
hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and
sold and do hereby grant bargain sell & convey unto the party
of the second part his heirs executors or assigns forever all
that tract of land lying and being in State and County above men
tioned as follows commencing at south west corner
section Thirty one Township Eleven Range Twenty one run
North thirteen chains & twenty one Links then East thirteen
chains From this described point Run North twenty six
83/100 Chains thence south Twenty six 83/100 Chains Thence
west to point of beginning Fourteen 67/100 chains Also commencing
at North West corner of same section Run east nine 50/100 Chains
thence South Thirteen Chains thence west nine 50/100 Chains Thence
north Thirteen chains to point of beginning also starting at
north east corner section thirty six Township Eleven Range
Twenty Run South thirteen chains thence west Twelve chains
Thence North thirteen Chains thence east Twelve chains to point
of beginning containing in all sixty seven acres more or less
To have and to hold the above described land to the party of
the second part in fee simple forever against myself heirs
executors & assigns This Grant is intended as security for a
debt of eight hundred dollars in a note bearing date
March 5th & due Jan 1st AD 1885, & which note is signed
James H. Hagood and is duly paid on or before its matu
rity will render this grant void but if default is made
in payment then John J. Barr party of the second part his
heirs executors or assigns are authorized to sell the land
herein granted or somuch as will be necessary to settle
above amt together with cost & expenses allowed by law
for the same In Testimony whereof the party of the first
part has hereunto set his hand & seal this March 3d AD 1883.
