Nelson Powers To James M. Sparkman
             "Mortgage"
This Indenture made the 15th day of December in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty
two Between Nelson Powers and his wife Cherry Powers
of Alachua County State of Florida^of the first^part
and J.M. Sparkman of County and State aforesaid
of the second part: whereas the said Nelson Powers and
Cherry Powers is justly indebted to James M. Sparkman
of the second part in the Sum of Two hundred and
Forty five dollars lawful money of the United States
of America Which said sum of Money is Covenanted
to be paid by two Certain promissory notes bearing even
date herewith one for the Sum of One hundred and Twenty
two 50/100 Dollars due and to be paid Ten months from date.
Now this Indenture witnessed, that the said parties of the
of the first part for the better Securing the payment of the
said Sum of money mentioned in the aforesaid two promissory
notes and also for and in Consideration of the Sum of one
Dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the sec-
ond part at or before the ensealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
granted bargained sold aliened remised released Conveyed
and Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell
alien remise release Convey and Confirm unto the said party
of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever All
those Certain Lots or parcels of land lying and being in Alachua
County Florida and known and described as follows
The South Half (S1/2) of the North East Quarter (NE1/4)
and the North Half (N1/2) of the South East Quarter (SE1/3)
of Section Nine (S9) Township Eight (T8) South Range
Twenty East, Containing one hundred and sixty acres
more or less. Together with all and Singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging
or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and rever-
sions remainder and remainders rents issues and
profits thereof: And also all the estate right title interest
Dower and right of dower property possessions claims and
demand whatsoever as well in law as in equity of the
said parties of the first part of in and to the Same
and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances
To have and to hold the above granted and described
premises unto the said party of the second part his
heirs and assigns for his own proper use benefit and
behoof forever Provided always and these presents
are on this express Condition that if the said Nelson
