James J. Kennard To Cornelia Jones
              "Mortgage"
This Indenture made the Fourth day of April in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three
Between James J. Kennard and Mary A. Kennard of the first
part and Cornelia Jones of the Second part: Whereas the
said James J. Kennatd & Mary A. Kennard are justly in-
debted to Cornelia Jones of the Second part in the Sum of
Three Hundred ($30000) Dollars lawful money of the United
States of America the Same being specified in a Certain
promisory note of even date herewith for the Sum of Three
Hundred Dollars drawing interest at the rate of (12) twelve
per Cent pr annum payable Semi annually until paid
the whole amount of principal and interest to become
due and payable two years from the date hereof;
Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said parties of the
first part for the better Securing the payment of the
said sum of money mentioned in the said note for
Three Hundred Dollars and also for and in Consider-
ation of the Sum of Three Hundred Dollars to them in
hand paid by the said party of the second part at or
before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold
aliened remised released Conveyed and Confirmed and by
these presents do grant bargain sell alien remise release Con=
vey and Confirm unto the said party of the second part and
her heirs and assigns forever, All of that Certain piece or parcel
of land lying & being in said State & County and which is des-
