J.S. Dupuis To R.R. Pickles
          "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents
that whereas J.S. Dupuis of the above State and County
is indebted to R.R. Pickles of the same State and County
in the sum of Two hundred dollars which said Sum -
is covenanted to be paid by his Certain promissory note
bearing date of 28th Febry 1882 and for the said Sum
of Two hundred dollars bearing interest at the rate of Ten
% Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note
and interest as expressed therein I do by these presents
grant bargain Sell and Convey unto the said R.R. Pickles
heirs and assigns all my right title interest and Claim
of in and to the following described property to wit:
One bay mare named Mollie aged four years and one
black Mare Julia aged Three years. To have and to
hold all and Singular the crops lands and personal prop-
erty above bargained and sold unto the said R.R.
Pickles heirs executors administrators assigns
forever. Provided Nevertheless that if the said J.S. Dupuis
should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the
said R.R. Pickles the full amount of said note together
with the interest according to its tenor and effect, then this
instrument to be void else to remain in full force and
Virtue And it is hereby further agreed that should it become
necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said J.S. Dupuis will pay therefor all attorneys fees
Charges and expenses. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal this 14th day of March
AD 1882. Note, the erasing of nine words on 9th line and 22
words on 10th line & 11 words on 11th line done before signing
