Mm H. Thompson To Josephine M. Brooks

Alachua County   } Whereas I William H. Thompson
am justly indebted to Josephine M. Brooks in the
Sum of Five hundred dollars which said Sum is Cov-
enanted to be paid by my Certain promissory note bearing
even date herewith one for the Sum of Five hundred
dollars payable on the first day of January AD 1883 and
bearing interest at the rate of Two per cent per month from
date And whereas I am desirous of fully and better secu-
ring the payment of said note and the Sum of moneys
mentioned therein. Therefore know all men by these pre-
sents That I William H. Thompson for and in Consideration
of the premises and of the Sum of One Dollar to me in
hand paid have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain Sell and Convey unto the said
Josephine M. Brooks her heirs and assigns all the fol-
lowing described piece parcel or tract of land to wit:
The North half, The South West Quarter, The North half
of the South East Quarter and the South West Quarter
of the South East Quarter of Section Nineteen (19) Township
Nine (9) Range Twenty Containing Six hundred acres
more or less and also the South East Quarter of the South
East Quarter of the South West Quarter of Section Twenty
Nine (29) Township Nine (9) Range Twenty (20) Contain-
ing Ten acres more or less and all lying and being
In Alachua County Florida. Together with all and Sin-
gular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the Same
unto the said Josephine M. Brooks in fee Simple
absolute forever Provided, however, and these presents are
upon this express Condition that if the said William H.
Thompson his heirs or assigns shall well and truly pay
or cause to be paid the Sum of money covenanted to be paid
by said note together with the interest to accrue thereon
according to the legal tenor thereof then this obligation shall
become null and void else to remain in full force and 
virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and Stipulated

    For value received I hereby acknowledge full and
    Complete satisfaction and discharge and Can-
    cellation of this Mortgage this February 18th 1884
