       Joseph Irving to Leander C. Doane

Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that whereas I Joseph
Irving of the above State and County is indebted to Leander C. Doane of the
same State and County in the sum of One hundred and Eighteen & 69/100 dollars
which said sum is covenanted to be paid by one certain promissory note
bearing date April 16th 1883 and for the said sum of one Hundred & Eighteen
& 69/100 dollars bearing interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum.  Now Therefore
to better secure the payment pof said note and interest as expressed
therein I do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the
said Leander C. Doane his heirs and assigns all my right title interest
and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species kind or description
now growing or which may hereafter be planted grown or gathered
by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands in
Alachua County Florida also the following described property to wit one bay
mare named Kate about 9 years old and one sorrel Horse named Vharley
about 12 years old one Bay Colt about 3 years old named Nillie, Eleven
head of Cows Branded J with under slope in each ear (14) Fourteen head
of Hogs marked under slope in each ear.  To Have and to Hold all and
singular the crops lands and personal property above bargained
and sold unto the said Leander C. Doane his heirs executors Adminis=
trators and assigns forever Provided Nevertheless that if the said
Joseph Irving should well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the said L.C. Doane the full amount of said note together
with the interest according to its tenor and effect then this
instrument to be void else to remain in ful force and virtue
