date of note at the rate of Eight per cent per annum
payable annuallly, all the above notes made payable at
H.F. Dutton & Co. Bank in Gainesville Florida
And Whereas we are desirous of fully and better secur
ing the payment of said notes and the sum of money
mentioned therein Therefore Know all men by pre
sents that we, Richard Kettlewell and Elizabeth
Kettlewell for and in consideration of the premises
and the sum of one dollar to us in hand paid have
granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do
grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Jno W. Hudson
and Myron B. French their heirs and assigns, all the
following described peice, parcel, or tract of land, towit:
The East one half (1/2) of Lot number Five (5) as shown
and described in the recorded plat of Mackey and
Hudson in the Register of Deeds office in Deed Book
"J" on page Nine hundred and Six (906) of the Public
Records of Alachua County Florida containing by
estimation Twenty (20) acres more or less. This Mort-
gage is given to secure a part of the purchase money for
said above described land-- Together with all and singular
the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto
belonging. To have and to hold the same unto the said
John W. Hudson and Myron B. French, in fee simple
absolute forever. Provided however and these presents are
upon this express consideration that if the said Richard
Kettlewell and Elizabeth Kettlewell, their heirs and
assigns, shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
the sum of money covenanted to be paid by said notes
together with the interest to accrue thereon according to
the legal tenor thereof then this obligation shall become
null and void, else to remain in full force and virtue
And it is hereby further agreed and stipulated that the said
Richard Kettlewell and Elizabeth Kettlewell will pay
all expenses costs and attorney's fees which the said John
W. Hudson and Myron B. French their heirs or assigns
may be put to in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid
sum of money covenanted to be paid by said notes, by fore
closure or otherwise-- In witness whereof we have here
unto set our hands and affixed our seals on this fourth
Day of April AD 1883
