State of Florida }  Be it remembered that on this 8th day
Alachua County   } of June 1883 personally appeared H.A.
Pickett who is known to me to be the same person
whose name is subscribed to the within as a witness
and after being sworn acknowledged that he and
D.E. Sapp witnessed the signing of the within by J.W.
Watson and S.F. Watson for the purposes and uses
therein contained. Whereupon it is prayed that the same
may be recorded. Acknowledged and subscribed before me

        James and Isabella Brown To Chas W. Bauknight
                   "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents
that we James Brown and Isabella Brown of the County of
Alachua and State of Florida for and in consideration of the
sum of Sixty dollars ($6000) to us in hand paid by Charles
W. Bauknight merchant of the Town of Archer County and State
aforesaid do sell and convey to the said Chas W. Bauknight
merchant, the NE1/4- of the NE1/4- Sec 32-T10- R- 18- E-
containing 40 acres more or less - also all the general grow
ing crop of every kind and description planted and cultivated
by the said James and Isabella Brown for the year 1883 -
warranted free from any incumbrances and against any adverse
claims Upon condition that if the said James and Isabella
Brown pay to the said Chas W. Bauknight merchant Sixty
Dollars ($6000) and interest on the 1st day of November AD 1883
agreeably to a promissory note of this date for that sum payable
to the said Charles W. Bauknight merchant, or order on demand,
with interest this deed shall be void else to remain in full
force and virtue. The aforesaid parties agree That until
the condition of this instrument is broken, the said property
may remain in possession of the said James and Isabella
Brown but after condition broken the said Charles W.
Bauknight merchant may at his pleasure dispose of said
land and crop to satisfy the within amount and we
