Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents That
whereas George Tillman of the above State and County is in
debted to Wheeler & Wilson Mfg Co of the State of Massachusetts
in the sum of Forty ($4000} dollars which the said sum
of money is covenanted to be paid by his certain promissory note
bearing date May 28th 1883 and for the sum of Forty ($40sup>00)
bearing interest at the rate of 8 per cent pr annum. Now there
fore to better secure the payment of said note and interest as
expressed therein I do by these presents grant bargain sell and
convey unto the said Wheeler & Wilson Mfg Co Their heirs and
assigns all my right, title interest and claim of in and to
all crops of whatsoever species kind or description now growing
or which may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for
me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands
in Alachua County, Florida. Also the following described
property to wit, To have and to hold all and singular the crops
lands and personal property above bargained and sold unto 
the said Wheeler and Wilson Mfg Co Their heirs executors admin
istrators and assigns forever. Provided nevertheless that if the
said George Tilman should well and truly pay or cause
to be paid unto the said Wheeler and Wilson Mfg Co the full
amount of said note together with the interest according to
its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void, else to
