County of Alachua } This Indenture made this the 8th
day of June AD 1883 between Mrs Harriet B. Halsted
and Ira J. Halsted her husband who joins in
this Mortgage for the purpose of Showing his Consent
and Confirmation of the Same of the town of Decater
Macon County and State of Illinois parties of the 
first part and Mrs Sarah R. Barnes of the town
of Gainesville Alachua County and State of Florida
party of the Second part Witnesseth that the said
parties of the first part for and in Consideration
of the Sum of five dollars to them in hand by
the said party of the second part as well as
for securing the payment of a note hereinafter
described has granted sold aliened and by these
presents doth grant sell and Convey and alien unto
the said party of the Second part her heirs and assigns
Certain lots or parcels of land in Alachua County
State of Florida Known and described as follows
The North half of the South East Quarter of the
South West Quarter and five acres off of the North
Side of the South half of the South East Quarter
of the South West Quarter of of Section Eleven
Township Ten, Range Twenty running parallel to the
former described piece of land. This grant is intended
as a Security for the payment of a note dated June
1st AD 1883 for the Sum of Three hundred and Seventy
^five^ $(375) dollars payable to Mrs Sarah R. Barnes or
order and signed by Harriet B. Halsted with interest at
the rate of eight per cent per annum from date
and made payable June the first in the year of
our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Eighty four which
payment if duly made will render this Conveyance
void otherwise to remain in full force and effect
In Witness Whereof we the parties of the first part
hereunto set our hands and seals the day and the
year first above written.
