 Fannie R. Johnston To James E. Alexander

State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Whereas we Fannie R. Johnston
and James F.P. Johnston her husband are justly
indebted to James E. Alexander in the Sum of Five
hundred dollars which said Sum of money is Cov-
enanted to be paid by our certain promissory note bearing
even date herewith one for the Sum of Five hundred
dollars due and payable Sixty days after date with
interest from date at the rate Two and one half (2 1/2%)
per cent per month. And whereas we are desirous of
fully and better Securing the payment of said note
and the sum of money mentioned therein. Therefore know
all men by these presents That we Fannie R. Johnston
and James F.P. Johnston for and in Consideration of
the premises and of the sum of one Dollar to us in
hand paid have granted bargained and sold and
by these presents do grant bargain Sell and Convey
unto the said James E. Alexander his heirs and as-
signs all the following described piece parcel or tract of
land towit: The North West Quarter of Section Twenty
four (24) Township Ten (10) Range Twenty (20) S & E all lying
and being in the County of Alachua and State of Florida
and containing one hundred and Sixty acres more or less
Together with all and singular the tenements hereditam-
ents and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have
and to hold the Same unto the said James E. Alexander
in fee Simple absolute forever. Provided however and
these presents are upon this express Condition that if the
said Fannie R. Johnston and James F.P. Johnston
their heirs or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause
to be paid the Sum of money Covenanted to be paid by
said note together with the interest to accrue thereon
according to the legal tenor thereof then this obligation
shall become null and void else to remain in full
force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and
stipulated that the said Fannie R. Johnston and
James F.P. Johnston will pay all expenses Costs
and attorneys fees which the said James E. Alex-
ander may be put to in enforcing the collection of the
aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid by said
note by foreclosure or otherwise.
In Witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and affixed our seals on this 10th day of July
