     Lucie D. Hagood To Jno J. Barr
                    "Deed"
This Indenture made & entered into this July 20th AD
1883, between Lucie D. Hagood and Frank A. Hagood
of the first part and John J. Barr of the second
part all parties being of the State of Florida & County
of Alachua witnesseth that the parties of the first
part for and in consideration of the sum of Eight
hundred & Eighty five 93/00 Dollars ($885.93) to them in
hand paid by the party of the second part the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have grant
ed bargained and sold and by these presents does
grant and convey to him the party of the second part
and his heirs and assigns forever the following describ
ed Lands situated in Alachua Co Florida in Sec Thirty
six (36) Township Eleven (11) Range Twenty-one (21) com
mencing at Thirteen 90/00 chains from North East corner
said section Run South Eight 70/00 chains then West
six 25/00 chains thence North Eight 70/00 chains then East
Six 25/00 chains to point of beginning containing five
& half acres more or less Also Commence Twenty Two
60/00 chains South of North West corner Sec 31 Thirty-
one Township Eleven (11) Range (21) S & E Run East Eleven
50/00 chains to a stake Thirty two links from a large
Live oak, Then North Eight 70/00 chains then west
Eleven 50/00 chains Then south Eight 70/00 chains to point
of beginning Ten (10) Acres more or less Also Commence
at South West corner G.W. Phillips Land Run North
Eight 85/00 chains Then West Two 25/00 chains then south
Eighteen (18) 85/00 chains Then East Twenty 40/00 chains to
point of beginning containing Twenty-Eight (28) acres more
or less with the appurtenances & improvements Thereto belong
ing and all the right title and interest of the said party
of the first part therein This Grant is intended as a
security for the payment of a note of Eight hund
red & Eighty five 93/00 dollars dated July 20th 1883 & due
July 20th 1885 signed by Lucie D. Hagood & Frank J.
Hagood which payment if duly made will render
This conveyance void but if default shall be made
in The payment of above described note then the
said party of the second part his heirs or executors
