Alachua County } Know all men by these presents
that whereas J.W. Button of the above State and County
is indebted to Job G. Smith of the same State
and County in the sum of Eighty dollars which
the said sum is covenanted to be paid by his
certain promissory note bearing date August 2nd
1883 and for the sum of Eighty dollars now
therefore to better secure the payment of said note
as expressed therein I do by these presents grant
bargain sell and convey unto the said Job G. Smith
his heirs and assigns the following described proper
ty to wit: One Iron Grey Horse about Four years old
named Skinner To Have and to hold all and sing
ular the personal property above bargained and
sold unto the said Job G. Smith his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever provided never
theless that if the said J.W. Button should well
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said
Job G. Smith the full amount of said note according
to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be
void else to remain in full force and virtue and it
is hereby further agreed that should it become necess
ary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said J.W. Button will pay therefor all attorneys fees
and expenses In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal this second day
of August AD 1883.
