George W. Holden To James R. Crawford
              "Mortgage"
This Indenture made and entered into the 13th
day of August AD 1883 by and between George W. Holden
of the County of Alachua in the State of Florida party
of the first part and James R. Crawford of the Same
place party of the first part for and in Consideration
of the Sum of Two hundred Dollars ($20000 to him in
hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering
hereof as evidenced by a promissory note of Even date
herewith hath granted bargained and sold and doth
by these presents grant bargain Sell Convey and Confirm
unto him the said party of the second part and to
his heirs and assigns forever the following described
personal property towit: One upright Engine, One
Artisan Well machine (2) Two Sets of Tools (Being 3 Tool
Boxes): All of my household & kitchen furniture Con-
Sisting of Beds bedding & crockery ware all of my
Silver & plaited-ware and one Parlor Organ - all
Situated in Alachua County Florida: And also
one upright Engine and one Artesian Well Machine
Situated in Marion County Florida Together with
all right title claim and demand of whatsoever
nature in and to the said property. To have and
to hold the above granted and described property
unto him the said party of the second part and
to his heirs executors and administrators and assigns
forever. And the said party of the first part doth
hereby Covenant and agree to and with the said
party of the Second part that he hath good right
to Convey the said property. That the Same is free
from all encumbrances except $200 - Mortgage upon two
said Engines. Provided always and these presents are upon
this Condition that whereas the party of the first part
hath this day given to the party of the second part his
promissory note of Even date herewith for the Sum
of ($200) Two Hundred Dollars borrowed money payable

For value received I hereby release cancel and discharge from the
lien of this Mortgage one upright engine now in the possession of L.W.
Jackson together with all the appurtenances and fixtures thereto belonging
on this the 24th day March AD 1884
