Alachua County } This Indenture made and entered
into on this the 29th day of March AD 1882 Witnesseth
that Alfred Hodge in Consideration of the sum of Twenty
five dollars already advanced by and now due to the
firm of Turner & Butler of Levyville Levy County Florida
by me the said Alfred Hodge by my note the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged and for the further
consideration of one dollar in hand paid by these
presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the
said firm of Turner & Butler and to their heirs and
assigns all the right title interest and claim of mine
the said Alfred Hodge my heirs executors and adminis
trators of in and to all the Crops of whatsoever species
kind or description ^ now growing ^ or which may hereafter
at any time in the future be planted grown or gathered
by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and
all lands in Alachua County Florida until the debt
hereby secured with interest is fully paid also the
following described property to wit one Bay Horse "Called
"Starling" Four (4) years old and this instrument to have
the full force favor and effect of a Mortgage and of a
lien under the provisions of Chapter 1739 Laws of Florida
entitled and act to enable indigent persons to obtain
credit and secure the lender to have and to hold
all and singular Crops and personal property above
bargained and sold unto the firm of Turner & Butler
and to their heirs executors administrators and assigns
forever. Provided nevertheless that if the said Alfred
Hodge shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the said Turner & Butler the full amount of the
advances heretofore made and hereafter to made
with their Charges for Commissions and interest on
the same then this obligation to be void else to remain
in full force and virtue and it is hereby further agreed
that all amounts heretofore and hereafter advanced |
