   L.B. Rawls to Dell and Round
              "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that whereas
Alachua County   } I L.B. Rawls of the above State and County
is indebted to Dell and Pound of the same State and County in the
sum of one hundred and seventy dollars which said sum is covenanted
to be paid by my certain promissory note bearing date September 18th 1883 
and for the sum of one hundred & Seventy five dollars bearing interest at the rate
of Three and a half per cent per month after due until paid and payable
thirty day from date Now therefore to better secure the payment of said
note and interest as expressed therein I do by these presents grant bargain
sell and convey unto the said Dell & Pound their heirs and assigns all
my right title interest and claim of in and to all crops of whatsoever
Species kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be
planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or
off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the
following described property to wit 1 Black Mare Mule named Kit
about 7 years old and one Iron Grey Mare named Babe about (5)
Five years old to Have and to Hold all and singular the crops
lands and personal property above bargained and sold unto the
said Dell and Pound their heirs executors administrators and
assigns forever Provided nevertheless that if the said L.B. Rawls
should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Dell
and Pound the full amount of said note together with the interest
according to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void
else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby
further agreed that should it become necessary to enforce this
instrument by legal proceedings the said L.B. Rawls will
pay therefor all attorney's fees and expenses. In Witness Whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 18th day
of September AD 1883
