Alachua County } This Indenture made and entered
into on this 17th day of December AD 1881 witness-
eth that John J. Johnson in Consideration of the sum of
one hundred dollars already advanced by and now due
to James S. Turner of Levyville Levy County Florida
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by me
the said John J. Johnson by ^my^ note and for the
further Consideration of one dollar in hand paid
by these presents doth grant bargain sell and Convey
unto the said James S. Turner and to his heirs and
assigns all the right title interest and Claim of mine
the said John J. Johnson my heirs executors and
administrators of in and to all the Cotton Crops now growing
or which may hereafter at any time in the future
be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for
my benefit on or off or any and all lands in Alachua
County Florida until the debt hereby Secured is fully
paid also the following described property to wit: one
Bay Horse 8 years old Caled "Selam" also Eight (8) Head
Cattle marked Crop, split and underbit in one ear
and upper Square in the other branded K and this
instrument to have the full favor and effect of a Mort-
gage and a lien under provisions of Chapter 1739 Laws of
Florida entitled an act to enable indigent persons to
obtain Credit and Secure the lender To have and to hold
all and singular Crops and personal property above
bargained and sold unto the said James S. Turner his
heirs executors administrators and assigns forever.
Provided Nevertheless That if the said John J. Johnson
shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the
said James S. Turner the full amount of the advances
heretofore made ^and hereafter to be made^ with his Charges
for Commissions and interest on the Same then this ob
ligation to be void else to remain in full force and
virtue and it is hereby further agreed that all amounts
heretofore ^and hereafter^ advanced are due and pay-
able upon delivery of goods therefor and shall bear
interest accordingly and that this instrument may
be enforced at any time at the option of the said
James S. Turner and it is hereby further agreed that
should it become necessary to enforce this instru-
ment by legal proceedings the said John J. Johnson
will pay therefor all reasonable attorneys fees & Charges
