County of Alachua and State of Florida. This Grant is intended as
a security for the payment of one hundred and Fifty Dollars ($15000}
with legal interest. Two years from date which payment if duly made
will render the conveyance void and if default shall be made in the
payment of the principal or interest above mentioned then the said
party of the second part W.L. Jackson (merchant) or his executors
administrators or assigns are hereby authorized to sell the premises
above granted or so much thereof as will be necessary to satisfy
the amount then due and we do hereby waive the benefit of
the Homestead and exemption Laws of Florida binding said
described property as if no such law existed. In Witness Whereof
the said party of the first part has hereunto set their hands and

do hereby certify that Caroline Dukes wife of John W.
Dukes having by me been examined separate and apart
and out of the hearing of her said husband the contents
and meaning of the said instrument of writing been by me
fully made known and explained to her and she also by me
having been fully informed of her rights under the Homestead
Laws of State Acknowledged that she had freely & voluntarily
executed the same and relinquished her property right to the
lands an tenements therein mentioned and also all her
rights and advantages under and by virtue of any and all
laws of this State relating to the exemption of homesteads
without compulsion of her said husband and that she does
not wish to retract the same. Acknowledged & Subscribed
