Willis Matthews To James W. Williams          
            "Mortgage"

Alachua County   } Whereas Willis Mathews and Maria
R. Matthews are justly indebted to James W. Williams
in the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars
which said Sum of money is Covenanted to be paid by
one certain promissory note bearing even date here-
with one for the sum of one hundred and twenty five
dollars. And whereas we are desirous of fully and
better securing the payment of said note and the
sum of money mentioned therein. Therefore know
all men by these Presents that we Willis Matthews
and Maria R. Matthews for and in Consideration of
the premises and of the sum of one dollar to us
in hand paid have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain sell and
Convey unto the said James W. Williams his heirs
and assigns all the following described piece parcel
or tract of land to wit: The South West Quarter (SW 1/4} of
the North East Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section Eight (8) Town-
ship Eleven (11) South of Range Eighteen East Containing
Forty (40) acres more or less. Together with all and Sin-
gular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the Same
unto the said James W. Williams in fee simple
absolute forever- Provided however and these presents
are upon this express Consideration that if the said
Willis Matthews and Maria R. Matthews their heirs
or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
the Sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note
together with the interest to accrue thereon then this
obligation shall become null and void else to remain
in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further
agreed and stipulated that the said Willis Matthews
