Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that we William
D. Holder and Sarah E. Holder of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida for and in Consideration
of the Sum of One hundred dollars ($10000 to them
in hand paid by Charles W. Bauknight Merchant
of the town of Archer County of Alachua and State of
Florida the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge
have this day bargained sold and delivered to the
Said Charles W. Bauknight merchant, the North
West Quarter (NW 1/4) of the North East Quarter (NE 1/4)
of Section Twenty Four (Sec 24) Township Ten (T 10} South
of Range Seventeen East (17E) Containing Thirty
Nine acres and Ninety five hundredths of an acre
also one dark bay horse about 3 1/2 years old and
all the general growing Crop planted and Cultivated
by us or through us for the year 1884. To have and to
hold the Same unto the said Charles W. Bauknight
Merchant his heirs and assigns in fee simple absolute
Provided Nevertheless the above is Considered in the
Nature of a Mortgage for the purposes of Securing to
Charles W. Bauknight merchant the payment of
One hundred dollars with eight per cent interest
on the first day of November AD 1883 now if we
shall well and truly pay said amount due for the 
purchase of said described horse and for the fur-
ther Consideration of goods &C advanced on the said
described date then this to be null and void else to remain
in full force and virtue and in default of said pay-
ment at the time specified and on demand Charles
W. Bauknight merchant his heirs or assigns are
hereby authorized & duly empowered by these presents
to make sale at private sale of the within described
property to satisfy this indebtedness or in any further
indebtedness made by us and we do hereby waive
the benefit of the so called homestead and exempt-
tion laws of the State of Florida binding said
property as if no such law existed
