bearing even date herewith one for the Sum of
Five hundred (500) dollars payable in 12 months
one for Five Hundred (500) dollars payable in 24
months - one for Five Hundred (500) dollars payable
in 36 months after this present date, all bearing legal
rate of interest (.08) percent. And whereas we are desi-
rous of fully and better securing the payment of said
notes and the sum of money mentioned therein.
Therefore Know all men by these presents that we W.N. Sheats
and Mary S. Sheats his wife for and in Consideration
of the premises and of the sum of one dollar to us
in hand paid have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain Sell and
Convey unto the said William Edwards his heirs and
assigns all the following described piece parcel or
tracts of land to wit: Lying in Sec 8 Tp 10, Range 20 east
and beginning at a point on the Northern boundary line
of the D.L. Clinch Grant which point is located Eight
Chains and thirteen links (8.13) South 85 1/4 deg east from
the point where the said Northern boundary line of
said Clinch Grant is intersected by the west boundary
line of Sec 8 in Tp 10 S.R.20 East and running thence
North 19ch and 75 links to the South limit of the
right of way of the Transit Rail Road thence in a
North easterly direction along the Said South line of the
right of way of said Rail Road (which line is 30 ft from
the center of the track) Eighteen (18) Chains Ten (10) links
to a stake thence South Twenty five (25) Chains and Seventy
(70) links to the Northern boundary line of the Clinch
Grant thence North 85 1/4 deg West Seventeen Chains and
fifty 50 links to the point of beginning Containing by
estimation Forty (40) acres more or less.
Together with all and singular the tenements hereditam-
ents and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have
and to hold the same unto the said William Edwards
in fee simple absolute forever Provided however and
these presents are upon this express condition that if
the said W.N. Sheats and Mary S. Sheats heirs or
assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
the sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note
together with the interest to accrue thereon according to
the legal tenor thereof then this obligation Shall become
null and void else to remain in full force and vir
tue. And it is hereby further agreed and stipulated
that the said W.N. Sheats and Mary S. Sheats his
wife will pay all expenses costs and attorneys
fees which the said William Edwards may be put to
in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid Sum
