W.L. Siegler to Eva J. Acee
                 "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas I W.L. Seigler widower of Alachua County
Alachua County   } and State of Florida am Justly indebted to Eva
Acee of the County and State aforesaid in the sum of One thousand
five hundred ($150000) Dollars which said sum of money is covenanted 
to be paid by a certain promissory note bearing even date herewith 
The said note being for the sum of one thousand five hundred ($150000}
dollars and due on November thirteenth (13th) Eighteen hundred and
eighty five (1885) with interest at the rate of Ten (10%) percent per
annum payable monthly until paid and payable to the order of
Eva J. Acee And whereas I am desirous of fully and better securing
the payment of said note and the sum of money mentioned therein
Therefore know all men by these presents that I W.L. Seigler of the
County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the premises
and of one dollar to __ in hand paid have granted bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto
the said Eva J. Acee her heirs and assigns all the following described
piece parcel or tract of land situated lying and being in the County
of Alachua State of Florida, to wit Lots nine (9) and ten (10) of Block two
(2) Range one (1) as described in Voyles survey of East Gainesville in
1876; Said land being situated in the Eastern addition to the
Town of Gainesville in the said County of Alachua and State of
Florida and being a portion of the premises conveyed by one
Henry G. Anderson to one James Doig by deed dated November
4th 1875 and recorded with Records of Alachua County Fla in Deed
Book I page 633. Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in
anywise appertaining. To Have and to Hold the same unto the
said Eva J. Acee her heirs and assigns forever Provided however
and these presents are upon this express condition that if
the said W.L. Seigler his heirs or assigns shall well and
truly pay or cause to be paid the sum of money covenanted to 
be paid by said note together with the interest to accrue
thereon according to the legal tenor and effect thereof then
this obligation Shall become null and void otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and
stipulated that the said W.L. Seigler his heirs or assigns will
pay all costs expenses and attorneys fees which the said Eva
J. Acee may be put to in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid
sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure
or otherwise. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal on this thirteenth day of November AD 1883
