 Benjamin Clifton et al to Wm A. Colclough
                     "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Know all men by these Presents that whereas
Alachua County   } we Benjamin Clifton and Charles Yorick
of the above State and County is indebted to Wm A. Colclough
of the same State and County in the sum of one hundred and
fifty dollars which the said sum is covenanted to be paid
by our certain promissory note bearing date Nov 24th 1883 and for
the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars bearing interest at
the rate of 10% per annum from date. Now therefore to better
secure the payment of said note and interest as expressed therein
we do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto
the said Wm A. Colclough his heirs and assigns all my right
title interest and claim of in and all crops of whatsoever
species kind or description now growing or which may hereafter
be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit
on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida
Also the following described property to wit: One Bay Horse and
one colored Black and marked in one ear with a Split
and in the other a Bullet hole and not branded. To Have
and to Hold all and singular the crops lands and personal
property above bargained and sold unto the said Wm A. Colclough
his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever. Provided
nevertheless that if the said Clifton & Yorick Should well and 
truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Wm A. Colclough
the full amount of said note together with the interest
according to its tenor and effect then this instrument
to be void else to remain in full force and virtue
