George Bowles and Wife To James Fennel
"Mortgage"
This Indenture made the 3rd day of December one Thousand
Eight hundred and Eighty three Between George Bowles and
wife Celia Ann Bowles of Alachua Co Florida parties of the
first part and James Fennel of the same State & County party of
the second part. Whereas the said George Bowles is Justly
indebted to the said James Fennel party of the second part
in the sum of Seventy Dollars Dollars lawful money of the
United States of America with interest to accrue evidenced by
promissory note of which the following is a copy
$7000 On or by the first day of January 1885 I promise
to pay to James Fennel or order the sum of Seventy Dollars
with interest at the rate of 10 per ct per annum from date
for value this 3rd day of December AD 1883
