      Lemuel Johnson To T.H. Bevill
                 "Mortgage"
                       Alachua County Florida November 22nd 1882
One day after date I promise to pay T.H. Bevill or bearer one
hundred and fifty dollars value received with Interest at 10
per cent per annum from date
                                 Lemuel Johnson
State of Florida } Whereas I have this day purchased of T.H. Bevill
Alachua County   } a certain Iron Gray mare about ten years old
and am still due him the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars
therefor with Interest at (10) ten per cent per annum agreeably to
the tenor and effect of a certain promissory note herewith
annexed bearing even date with these presents. Now know all
men by these presents that I hereby Mortgage to the said T.H. Bevill
for the secure payment of said sum and Interest the said mare
and pledge myself not to part with sell or swap the said
mare without the written consent of said Bevill and if I should
part with the possession of said mare then this obligation is due
and payable and he shall have full power to seize said mare
and foreclose this instrument of mortgage and should said mare
be injured or ill treated by me through carelessness or neglect I agree
to return said mare and pay the sum of five dollars per
month for the uses of the same and to further secure him in the
payment of said sum and interest I hereby mortgage all my
crops of whatsoever planted in the year AD 1883 and 1884 for
the satisfaction of said demand and should it be necessary to
enforce this instrument by legal process I agree to pay therefor
all necessary attorneys fees and charges and for the recording
of this mortgage and upon payment by me of the above
claim then this obligation to be null and void else to
remain in full force and effect. In testamony whereof I have
herewith set my hand and seal this 22nd day of November AD 1882
