whereas Jacob Smith of the above State and County is
indebted to S.D. Smoke of the same State and County in the 
sum of Two hundred & fifty dollars which said sum is covenanted
to be paid by a certain promissory note bearing date December
1st 1883 and for the said sum of Two hundred fifty dollars
bearing interest at the rate of 10 per cent per annum Now 
therefore to better secure the payment of said note and interest
as expressed therein I do by these presents grant bargain sell
and convey unto the said S.D. Smoke heirs and assigns all
my right title interest and claim of in and to all the crops
of whatsoever species kinds or description now growing
or which maty hereafter be planted grown or gathered by 
me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all
lands in Alachua County Florida Also the following
described property to wit one Gray Horse about 9 years
old and all my possessions To Have and to Hold all and
singular the crops lands and personal property above
