use benefit and advantage of the said Sarah Z. Malphurs and for the benefit
of her separate property and estate. And Whereas we are desirous of fully and
better securing the payment of said note and the sum of money mentioned therein
Therefore know all men by these presents that we Sarah Z. Malphurs and her
husband Noah W. Malphurs for and in consideration of the premises and of one
dollar to us in hand paid have granted bargained sold and conveyed and by
these presents do do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said James R.
Crawford and to his heirs and assigns all the following described
piece parcel or tract of land situated lying and being in the County
of Alachua in the State of Florida to wit: The North Half of Lot
Number one in section Ten Township (8) Eight south of Range
(19) Nineteen East containing (40) Forty acres more or less and also
(35) Thirty Five Head of Cattle marked (2) Two Underbits in one
Ear and one Underbit and swallow Fork in the other and Branded
"62" Situated in said County and State and all of the said
property being the separate property and estate of the said
Sarah Z. Malphurs. Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any
wise appertaining To Have and To Hold the same unto the said
James R. Crawford and to his heirs and assigns forever Provided
however and these presents are upon this Express condition that if
the said Sarah Z. Malphurs and Noah W. Malphurs and their
or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid the
sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note together with
the interest to accrue thereon according to the legal tenor and
effect thereof then this obligation shall become null and void
otherwise to remain in full force and virtue: And it is hereby further
agreed and Stipulated that the said Sarah Z. Malphurs and
Noah W. Malphurs heirs or assigns will pay all costs expenses
and attorneys fees which the said James R. Crawford his heirs
or assigns may be put to in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid
sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure
or otherwise In Witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and affixed our seals on this 15th day of December 1883

Alachua County   } I W.W. Hampton a Notary Public in and
for said State and County do hereby certify that on the 15th
day of December AD 1883 before me personally appeared Sarah Z.
Malphurs and Noah W. Malphurs her husband to me well 
known as the persons described in and who executed the foregoing
Mortgage Deed and severally acknowledged the execution thereof
to be their free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein
mentioned and the said Sarah Z. Malphurs the wife of the
said Noah W. Malphurs on an examination taken and made
