Alachua County } Know all men by these presents
that I Albert Dickerson of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida for and in Consideration of the
Sum of fifty five dollars to me in hand paid by
James J. McKinney of the Same County and State
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have
this day bargained Sold and delivered and by these
presents do hereby bargain sell and deliver and
Convey unto the said James J. McKinny one Bay
Celum
horse name Calaum Branded J.K. on the Shoulder
and thigh. Provided nevertheless the above is Consider-
ed in the nature of a Mortgage for the purpose of Se-
curing to the said James J. McKinney the balance due
on the above named and described horse that I have
this day purchased from him now I shall well and
truly pay said $5300 on the first day of December
AD 1884 then this to be null & void else to remain in
full force & virtue and in default of said pay-
ment at the time specified James J. McKinny his
heirs or assigns are hereby duly empowered and au-
thorized to take possession of said horse and make
Sale of Same to satisfy the within amount due him
and for the further security of said payment I do hereby
give to the said James J. McKinny his heirs and
assigns a statutory lien upon my general crop of
every kind and description to be planted and Cultivated
by me and through me for the year 1884 and in the
event of the death of said horse in the interim
