"Mortgage"
This Indenture made the Twenty Eighth day of De-
cember in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and Eighty three Between Ann F. Gregory
and her husband Jason Gregory the parties of the
first part and William A. Colclough and O.C. Colclough
wife of Charles A. Colclough of said State and County
of the second part. Whereas the said parties of the
first part are justly indebted to William A. Colclough
and O.C. Colclough the parties of the second part in
the sum of Two Thousand dollars to each of said
parties of the second part lawful money of the
United States of America as evidenced by two Several
promissory notes bearing even date with these presents
payable respectively to each of said parties of the
second part on the first day of January AD 1889 -
with interest on each of said promissory notes at the
rate of Eight per Cent per annum payable annually
and whereas also the said parties of the first part
are justly indebted to the said William A. Colclough in
the Sum of Eight hundred and twenty five dollars
and fifty three Cents as evidenced by their promissory
note bearing even date with these presents payable
Janry first AD 1885. Now this Indenture Witnesseth
that the said parties of the first part for the better
Securing the payment of the Said Sum of Moneys
mentioned in the said Several promissory notes and
also for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten
