interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument
to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is
hereby further agreed that should it become necessary to enforce
this instrument by legal proceedings the said David Simmons
will pay thereof all Attorney's fees charges and expenses. In

Know all men by these Presents That Whereas I Melvin Haile of
above State and County am indebted to G.K. Broome of the same
State and County in the sum of One Hundred Fifteen & 00/100 dollars
lawful money of the United States which said Sum is expressed in
one certain promissory note bearing date 1st Jany 1884 and for
the said sum of One Hundred & Fifteen dollars and falling
due on or before 1st November AD 1884 with interest at 2% pr Mn
after maturity Now therefore to better secure said G.K. Broome
in full payment of said note and interest as expressed I do by
these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said G.K.
Broome his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and
claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species Kind
or description now growing or which may hereafter be planted
grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of
any and all lands in Alachua County Florida, Also the
following described property to wit, One (1) Sorrel Colt about Seven
months old also one (1) Bay Horse Stocking feet & Blaze in face
Bought this day of said G.K. Broome & for which this note
represents Balance of purchase money due. To Have and To Hold
all and Singular the crops and personal property above bargained
