by me apart from her said husband acknowledged
that she executed the same freely and without any
fear or Compulsion of her said husband

               Mortgage
This Indenture made the 29 day of April in the year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty
Two, Between Joseph W. Malphurs and Mary Malphurs 
his wife partys of the first part and N.J. Jones & Co
partys of the the of the second part, whereas the said
Joseph W. Malphurs and Mary Malphurs partys of the
first part are justly indebted to N.J. Jones & Co partys
of the second part in the Sum of Fifty Eight dollars
and 82/100 Dollars lawful money of the United States
of America as setforth in the following note
