Percy F. Wilson and Wife to M.B. French
"Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas Percy F. Wilson and his wife Willie M. Wilson
Alachua County } of said State and County are Justly indebted to
M.B. French of Dane County State of Wisconsin in the sum of Five
Hundred dollars which said sum of money is covenanted to be paid
by One certain promissory note bearing even date herewith to wit:
$50000 Gainesville Florida Dec 19th 1883
On or by the first day of May after date we or either of us
promise to pay to M.B. French or bearer the sum of Five Hundred
Dollars value rec'd and we hereby waive all right of Homestead Exemption
against the debt hereby created with interest at ten per cent per
annum - And Whereas they are desirous of fully and better
securing the payment of said Note and the sum of money mentioned
therein Therefore know all men by these Presents that We Percy F.
Wilson and Willis M. Wilson of State & County aforesaid for and in
consideration of the premises and of one dollar to us in hand paid
have granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents
do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said M.B. French of
Madison Dane County State of Wisconsin his heirs and assigns all
the following described piece parcel or tract of land situated
lying and being in the County Of Alachua State of Florida to wit:
Commencing at the South East Corner of the tract of land now
owned by Nathaniel Howland which was conveyed to him by the
grantors herein then running East Fourteen (14) chains thence South
(Ten degrees East) Fourteen (14) chains thence West Sixteen (16) chains
and Fifty (50) links Thence North along Section line Thirteen (13)
Chains and Forty Links to place of beginning twenty 45/100 (20 45)
acres of Land more or less the same being a part of Section Twenty
seven (27) in Township Ten (10) South of Range Nineteen (19) East
of the "Arredondo Grant" Together with all and singular the
tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging
or in anywise appertaining To Have and to Hold the same unto
the said M.B. French his heirs or assigns forever Provided however
and these presents are upon this express condition that if the said
Percy F. Wilson and his wife Willie M. Wilson their heirs or assigns
shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid the sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note together with the interest to
accrue thereon according to the legal tenor and effect thereof then this
obligation shall become null and void otherwise to remain in
full force and virtue And it is hereby further agreed and Stipulated
that the said Percy F. Wilson and Willie M. Wilson their heirs or assigns
will pay all costs expenses and attorney's fees which the said M.B. French
may be put to in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure or otherwise. In
Witness Whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and affixed our seals
on this 19th day of December AD 1883
