Alachua County   } I hereby certify that on this 3rd
day of January AD 1884 before me personally came
J. Maxey Dell and Mary N. Dell his wife and Mary
N. Dell his wife in her own right who say and ac-
knowledge that they signed sealed executed and de-
livered the foregoing Mortgage for the uses and purpo-
ses therein Contained and expressed - And also
Came the said Mary N. Dell wife of J. Maxey
Dell who being by me first examined separate and
apart from her husband says and acknowledges
that she renounces releases and relinquishes all
her dower - right of Dower and right of separate Estate
property possession and Claim in and to the lands
in the foregoing Mortgage described and Conveyed and
that she did the Same Freely and voluntarily and
without any Compulsion Constraint apprehension
or fear of or from her husband. In Witness whereof

Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents
that Whereas Joel W. Malphurs of the above State
and County is indebted to Geo H. Scofield of the
Same State and County in the Sum of One hund-
dred & Twenty Five dollars which said Sum is
Covenanted to be paid by his Certain promissory note
bearing date December 7th 1883 and for the said Sum
of One hundred & Twenty Five dollars bearing interest
at the rate of 25 p¢ pr on the dollar when due Now
therefore to better secure the payment of said note
and interest as expressed therein I do by these
presents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said
Geo H. Scofield and his heirs and assigns all my
right title interest and Claim of in and to all the
following described property to wit: One Eight horse
power Engine (Wood & Marin make) and three grins
and Gris Mill Shafting and all the fixtures and
implements now with said machinery or belonging
thereto and better known as the machinery formerly
