Wallace E. Rice and Wife To Charles E. Willetts
"Mortgage"
This Indenture made this 16th day of January in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty four Between Wallace
E. Rice and Mary E. Rice husband and wife of the first part and
Charles E. Willetts of the second part: Whereas the said parties of the
first part are justly indebted to Charles E. Willetts of the second part in
the sum of One Thousand dollars lawful money of the United States
of America as evidenced by one promissory note of even date herewith
in the sum of One thousand Dollars due and payable three years
from date with interest at the rate of (8) Eight per cent per
annum, Interest payable Semiannually. Now this Indenture
Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for the better
securing the payment of the said sum of money mentioned
in said promissory note and also for and in consideration of
the sum of One Thousand Dollars to them in hand paid by the
said party of the second part at or before the ensealing and
delivery of the presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained sold aliened remised released conveyed
and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell
alien remise release convey and confirm unto the said party of
second part and his heirs and assigns forever All the following
described land as follows to wit: The fractional part of the South
West quarter of Section (23) Twenty three Township 8 Eight South
of Range (21) Twenty One East as follows commencing at a point
(660) Six hundred and Sixty feet west of the South East corner
of said quarter Section and running due North (1980) Nineteen
hundred and Eighty feet to Junction of lands owned by Forrest and
Harris & Potter thence West (660) Six hundred and Sixty feet to
land of E.B. Fogg thence Southerly on the boundary line of
lands of said Fogg about (2000) Two thousand feet to the Section
line and thence East on the Section line about (640) Six hundred
and forty feet to the place of beginning and containing by
estimation about (30) Thirty acres more or less Together with
all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion
and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits
thereof And also all the estate right title interest Dower and
right of Dower property possession claim and demand whatsoever
as well in law as in equity of the said parties of the first part
of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof with the
appurtences. To Have and To Hold the above granted and
