do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Mary
E. Rice to me well known as the wife of Wallace E. Rice
and as one of the persons described in and who executed the
foregoing Mortgage deed did this day to me on a separate and
private examination before me taken and made separately and
apart from her said husband acknowledge and declare that she
made herself a party to and executed the same for the purpose
of Relinquishing all of her Right of Dower in and to the lands
in said conveyance described and granted and that she
executed the same freely and voluntarily and without
any constraint apprehension fear or compulsion of or from her
said husband the said Wallace E. Rice Witness my hand and
seal at Waldo this 16th day of January one thousand Eight
hundred and Eighty--

      Ambrose Welch To G.K. Broome
                 "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas We Ambrose Welch and Maria Welch his
Alachua County   } wife are Justly indebted to G.K. Broome Merchant of
Gainesville Florida in the sum of Three Hundred Thirty four & 00/100 Dollars
which said sum of money is covenanted to be paid by one certain
promissory note bearing date 22d December 1883 - And whereas we
are desirous of fully and better securing the payment of said note
and the said sum of money mentioned therein. Therefore know all
men by these presents that we Abrose Welch and Maria Welch
husband & wife for and in consideration of the premises and of one
dollar to us in hand paid have granted bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey
