unto the said G.K. Broome Merchant as aforesaid and to his heirs
and assigns all the following described piece parcel or tract of land Situated
lying and being in the County of Alachua State of Florida to wit: Beginning
at the half mile Stake on the Northern boundary line of Section Twenty five
(25) running North Forty three (43) chains and Seventeen (17) Links thence
west Eleven (11) chains thence South three (3) chains and Seventeen (17) links
to a stake thence West nine (9) chains thence South Forty (40) chains thence
East Twenty (20) chains to the point of beginning in Section Twenty Four
(24) in Township Nine (9) South Range Eighteen (18) East Containing
Eighty three and a Half (83 1/2) acres more or less Together with all
and singular the Tenements hereditsments and appurtenances to the
same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To Have and to Hold the
same unto the said G.K. Broome his heirs and assigns forever. Provided
however and these presents are upon this express condition that if the said
Ambrose Welch or his wife Maria Welch their heirs or assigns shall
well and truly pay or cause to be paid the sum of money covenanted to
be paid by said note together with the interest to accrue thereon
according to the legal tenor and effect thereof then this obligation
shall become null and void otherwise to remain in full force and
virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and stipulated that the said
Ambrose Welch and his wife Maria Welch their heirs or assigns will
pay all costs expenses and attorney's fees which the said G.K. Broome
may be put to in enforcing the collection of the aforesaid sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure or otherwise

Alachua County } State and County do hereby certify that on this 16th day
of January AD 1884 before me personally appeared Ambrose Welch and
Maria Welch his wife to me well known as the persons described in
and who executed the foregoing Mortgage Deed and severally acknowledged
the execution thereof to be their free act and deed for the uses and
purposes therein mentioned and the said Maria Welch the wife of the
said Ambrose Welch on an examination taken and made separately
and apart from her said husband did acknowledge before me that she
made herself a party to the said conveyance for the purpose of releasing
renouncing and relinquishing her Dower and right of Dower in and to the
lands tenements and hereditaments therein described and thereby granted
and released and that such release of dower is made by her freely and voluntarily
and without constraint apprehension or fear of or from her said husband
