the whole of said principal sum together with the interest due thereon
It is also further agreed covenanted and Stipulated that the said Mary
L. McClellan Robert McClellan Dora C. Ellis and T. Benton Ellis their heirs
or assigns will pay all costs charges expenses and attorneys or Solicitors
fees which the said Eliza A. Clapp may be put to in enforcing the
collection of the aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid by said
note be the same by foreclosure or otherwise. In Witness Wereof we have
hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals on this the 17th day of

Robert McClellan and Dora C. Ellis wife of T. Benton Ellis each
of whom being first duly questioned and examined by me
separate and apart from their husbands say and acknowledge
before me that they and each of them did make themselves
parties to the foregoing Mortgage for the purpose of conveying
releasing renouncing and relinquishing all of their and each
of their separate estate and right of property in and to the
lands in said Mortgage described and that they did the same
freely and voluntarily and without any confusion constraint
apprehension or fear of or from their said husbands
